With the 61st choice, the Jets chose OT/OG Vladimir Ducasse from Massachussets. Ducasse is a talented, athletic, and large lineman whose selection could pave the way for Alan Faneca or Damien Woody's departure. Faneca in particular has been rumored to be on the trading or cutting block, and his days as a Jet are clearly numbered.
Ducasse has a great skillset that could plug in numerous places on the line. Bill Callahan and the Jets could put him in as a starter right away or they could groom him a year and plug him in next year. Good value, and it's a good idea to add some youth and talent to the offensive line.
There is now a glaring hole on the defensive line that will probably be addressed with their next pick, number 124 overall. It's also possible the Jets choose a pass rusher.
